BRAC - Consultants

Migration programme, BRAC initiated ‘Safe Migration for Bangladesh Migrant Workers’ project in 2012. The project is funded under the Strategic Partnership Agreement of BRAC with DFID and AusAid. The project’s community based interventions aims to steer a community based migrant reintegration model program for country-wide replication in future. Supportive initiatives for social and economic re-integration are vital for the returnee migrants’ successful reintegration and sustainable development at their origin. Keeping this objective in mind, Migration Programme had planned activities to develop the capacity of community people (e.g. returnee migrants and family members) in Income Generating Activities (IGA) and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) development. Migration Programme is therefore currently seeking proposals from consultancy firms that will provide training to the returnee migrants and members of their family on income generating activities (IGA) and developing small and medium enterprises (SME) and will provide technical support to them for successful implementation of the entrepreneurship and income generating activities.   
Expected Output:
Consultant will undertake the following activities:
  • Participate in different planning meetings  with concern Migration Programme team members for conceptualization;
  • Training Need Assessment Report IGA and SME: Need assessment for selecting most eligible trades for IGA and for designing appropriate SMEs for migrants and their family members;
  • Develop and sharing training module on SME with senior level managers for approval;
  • 06 batches of IGA training to migrants and their family members: Six training sessions will be conducted in 3 SMFCs (Safe Migration Facilitation Centers stationed in Dhaka, Sylhet and Noakhali region) with 25 participants in each batch for IGA;
  • 04 batches of SME training to migrants and their family members: Four training sessions will be conducted in 3 SMFCs (Safe Migration Facilitation Centers stationed in 3 Regions e.g. Dhaka, Sylhet and Noakhali) with 25 participants in each batch, and facilitate and assist to prepare business plan for selected participants;
The Consultancy firms in relevant fields are requested to submit Three (3) copies of Technical Proposal and One (1) copy of Financial Proposal latest by September 25, 2014  to ‘Head of Procurement’ BRAC Center, 75 Mohakhali, Dhaka: 1212 in Box No. 2 kept at ground floor besides Procurement Department or Email to: syeda.sy@brac.net or mashrufa.rahman@brac.net .
