British Council invites applications for the position of full time Teacher of English
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- teach English to British Council students in any of our centres in Bangladesh
- actively participate in and contribute to learning and development.
- carry out various non-teaching administrative tasks
- have native-level or near native-level mastery of English across all four skills – essential requirement (please attach your most recent IELTS certificate with your application)
- have a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English, Cambridge or Trinity) – essential requirement
- have a first degree/or equivalent – essential requirement (may be waived in case of otherwise highly qualified candidates)
- have at least one of the following (post CELTA): experience of teaching adult general English courses for more than 800 hours, or corporate English courses for more than 800 hours, or young learner courses for more than 200 hours – essential requirement
- have a Young Learner teaching qualification (CELT-YL extension or Trinity TYLEC) – desirable requirement
- have a DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English, Cambridge or Trinity) – desirable requirement
- have the right to live and work in Bangladesh – essential requirement
- Tk 90,000 to 108,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience
- 35 days leave per year
